It is suggested that children bring shorts, a T Shirt and shoes to run in, however, they will need to wear their uniform to school. Mufti will only be for running in.

ANZAC Ceremony
This afternoon we had a school ANZAC ceremony. It was a great chance for us all to pay respect to our fallen soldiers.

Creative Thinking
Hazel has been busy getting creative with plastic bags. She came up with the idea that plastic bags could be turned into clothes.
Very cool Hazel.

Green Bay Beach
On Wednesday we set off on our trip to Green Bay Beach. Some of the children were a bit worried about the walk but we all enjoyed it once we got going. Everybody enjoyed participating in the 5 different activities that were on offer and we had a great time looking for different sorts of treasures in the sand.
Thank you again to our fantastic parent helpers :).

Good morning parents and caregivers of Ara Pakeke students
The weather is looking hopeful for the trip tomorrow however we may need to leave the beach earlier than planned to get back to school before the rain comes. Please make sure your child has a raincoat and spare pair of clothes in their bag. We will make a final call tomorrow before we set off. Thank you for your support.
Kind Regards

Swimming Sports
A couple of weeks ago we had a great visit to West Wave. All of Room 7 participated in a few races and everybody had a good time. When we weren't in the pool we could be heard cheering on our classmates and at the end of the day it was safe to say that everybody was proud of their efforts.
Guest Speaker
To support our topic and help us to understand how we can look after the environment we had an ecologist come to talk to us. Miranda (the ecologist) works for the council and she shared lots of valuable information and experiences with us. We were intrigued to learn about some of the wild life we have living in our own backyards as well as how important it is to look after our native species.
Library Visit
Last week we were lucky enough to have 2 librarians visit from the New Lynn library. They came to talk to us about how easy it is to use the library and how we go about getting our own library card. It was also suggested that we visit the library during the upcoming holidays.
Time for a catch up
Sorry it's been so long between updates. Here are a few posts to show what we have been up to over the last couple of weeks.
